Case Study: New Construction
Nassau Point Waterfront Estate
Sited on an exposed point of land at the intersection of a series of natural creeks and open bay beachfront, our goal was to design a grand waterfront that worked equally well for large-scale entertaining yet also allowed for cozy family living. In addition, we wanted to create a space that both respected and utilized the beautiful natural surroundings.
One particular part of this challenge was our need to both embrace and control the influences of the strong natural light which impacts the property from an unobstructed expanse of sky and is further magnified by reflection off of the surrounding water areas. With this in mind, we were careful to situate the home in such a way as to be able to best manage these natural elements, and also created deep decks and other architectural elements that allowed for enjoyment of the outdoors without full exposure.
In addition we designed architectural features that enable the homeowner to adjust natural lighting in the home’s interior as desired, yet still maximize views of the surrounding waters and wetlands.
“Working with Mark was a pleasure as he was extremely helpful throughout the entire process of building our new home. We are extremely satisfied with the end result and consider ourselves fortunate to have chosen him.”
